Testing & Qualification

At GlobalTech Subsea (GTS), product integrity and performance in demanding offshore environments are foundational to our engineering philosophy. Our subsea MUX connectors, PBOF assemblies, and hybrid cable systems have undergone a comprehensive qualification process to ensure compliance with the rigorous standards required by the offshore drilling industry.

GTS has successfully completed a full suite of qualification testing in accordance with API 16D requirements. This includes high-temperature thermal aging, flame resistance, pressure cycling, insulation resistance, dielectric breakdown, and continuity performance under simulated well control conditions.

Testing was performed at Stress Engineering Services, a globally recognized facility with expertise in subsea component validation. All procedures were executed to conform with applicable sections of API 16D, and test results were independently witnessed and validated by a certified third-party inspection body, ensuring full traceability and adherence to industry-recognized protocols.

The qualification program included:

• Thermal performance and flame testing in compliance with 700°C for 30 minutes per API 16D Annex D
• Electrical insulation and continuity tests pre- and post-exposure
• Hydrostatic pressure cycling to validate pressure integrity of subsea cable terminations and assemblies
• Mechanical pull and bend testing to simulate dynamic loading and ensure structural robustness
• Connector interface validation to verify pin alignment, sealing performance, and repeatable engagement under load
